Golden Valley Botanicals is a Mail-Order Nursery offering drought-tolerant plants and seeds. We grow and ship plants from two growing grounds: one in the Mohave Desert on our homestead in Golden Valley, Arizona, and the other in the Mediterranean climate of the Ojai Valley in Ventura County, California. We specialize in a wide range of trees, perennials, succulents, and cacti that can thrive in an arid environment.

Shipping & Ordering

Our plants are shipped with considerable personal time, cost, and careful attention so that they will arrive at their destination in good health, intact, and ready to adapt to a new environment. It is important to make sure the plants you have selected are appropriate for your USDA Plant Hardiness Zone. Our normal processing time for orders is 7 business days.

Please add a heat pack to your order during the winter months if you live in a colder climate and expect freezing temperatures the week your plants are being shipped. It will be activated before shipping with your plants and help to keep them happy and warm!

Please see the FAQ page for more information. We are happy to answer any questions about combined shipping discounts for bulk purchases. Please contact us directly with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Reviews

“I got two mastic trees from this shop and am so pleased with the high quality of the trees and the fast and very careful shipping. These beautiful, healthy young trees were protected with a “pyramid” of bamboo skewers, a plastic bag around the pot, lots of cushy paper packing, and the heat pack I ordered. Wisconsin was 30F when the trees arrived, but the heat pack was still warm. One extra nice thing is that all the packing materials were recyclable, reusable or compostable. The vendor also included plant tags with the species name. I unwrapped the trees to find them both 100% intact, not a single lost leaf or broken stem. I’ve had them a week and have had zero leaf loss and I’m seeing new growth already. I’m planning to grow these out to train as competition bonsai in the future. I highly recommend this vendor.”

“The Joshua Trees were wrapped up very well and safe, we’re in good condition and arrived in three days. Would definitely purchase from this store again. I love it when a small business has it together. Thanks!”

“The attention and care taken to protect the plant during shipping was outstanding. Seller constructed a protective zone by using sticks so the plant would not be squished or damaged in its travels. Moist towels and plastic bags were placed around the container to keep the plants from drying out and suffering. Highly recommend this store as anyone who takes this much precaution cares about the plants they are growing and selling to others. I will for sure be buying from this store again in the future – thank you!”

“Excellent, healthy plant so well packed and such fast shipping, it was as though we bought it in person rather than through the mail. Planted it right away, hoping it likes it here! Many thanks, would gladly purchase from this seller again.”

Find Your Plant Hardiness Zone

USDA Plant Hardiness Zones are the standard by which gardeners and growers can determine which plants are most likely to thrive at a location. These zones are determined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and are based on the average annual minimum winter temperature, divided into 10-degree Fahrenheit zones. Just enter your zip code into the field below to see your own growing zone.
